Susan Baker, Board Secretary
As a volunteer at the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program for twelve years, Susan works with all of the education ambassadors including eagles and new raptors in training. She is lead trainer for two of the ambassadors, as well as
outreach exhibit coordinator.
Susan supports youth enrichment and education in STEM subjects. She is currently a volunteer for FIRST Robotics, judging and refereeing in several western states and eleven World Championships to date.
With passion and more than forty years of experience, Susan has contributed her time and energy as officer and/or director at the following organizations:
- Colorado Mountain Club and CMC Foundation
- Colorado Fourteeners Initiative
- Girl Scouts of Colorado
- American Federation of Aviculture
Susan graduated from Rice University with her Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. She earned the Master of Science Degree in Computer Science from Colorado State University, and worked for technology companies Hewlett-Packard, Agilent, and Keysight for more than forty-six years. Susan was one of the lead designers of Rocky Mountain BASIC on the workstation and UNIX operating systems, followed by various positions in sales, business development, marketing, finance, communications, and human resources.
She met her husband Steve on their first project together at HP. They have two children, Linda and Dawson, who are also engineers.
