The Rocky Mountain Raptor Program, 720 E. Vine Drive, Fort Collins, will host our holiday open house on Sunday, December 8 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Examine displays of raptor feathers, skeletons, x-rays, and photos. Peek into the kitchen and find out what’s on the daily menu for a recovering owl or hawk. Learn how sick and injured or abandoned eagles, hawks, owls, and falcons receive care so that many of them can return to the skies. Meet educational raptors at arm’s length (great photo op) and chat with volunteers and staff about their experiences with patients. Investigate volunteer opportunities and other ways to support this non-profit program, including the Giving Tree that will be festooned with wish list items needed to sustain operations. The Raptor Gift Shop will also be stocked with a wonderful array of unique jewelry, calendars, cards, books for children and adults, stuffed toys, and clothing items that will make distinctive gifts (with a Colorado flair for out-of-state recipients). ALL BIRDS AND DISPLAYS WILL BE INSIDE WHERE IT IS TOASTY WARM!!!
The RMRP is located on Vine Drive, one mile north of Mulberry St., halfway between College and LeMay Ave. For more information, please call 970-484-7756.
