Volunteers Of The Month
Anne Biedenstein, March, 2008
“Every time I watch a bird make a miraculous turn around, every time I see them fly off into the sky, every time I see the look of wonder on a child's face when they see the first bird come out of their box at a program, or every time I get to sit outside in the sun with a bird on my fist...the feeling is indescribable. I’m making a difference but more importantly I feel like I'm a part of something that is truly having an impact on the lives of many children and adults.”

Amanda Sutton, February, 2008
“I’m amazed by the other volunteers every time I come into the center. When I volunteer, I know I’m helping birds improve and eventually get released again. To know the animal would have died without our help makes me feel good about what I do.  When we release a bird it is the best feeling in the world.  It makes the smell of prairie dog guts in the morning worth it.”

Amanda Redford, December, 2007
“What we as members of RMRP do is so important. We’re not just saving individual birds, we’re making people aware of themselves and their place in this world with every other living creature. We, as individuals and as a community, really can change things for the better, one small action at a time.”

Tom Bryan, January, 2008
“I had no idea of the size of the RMRP ‘machine,’ and how many things are going on every day and how many people it takes. I’ve never seen an event as big as the auction come together so smoothly. If businesses ran as well as RMRP they could take over the world. I also enjoy the rewards of seeing a bird that you have been taking care of and feeding finally being released. That’s a great feeling. I’m also glad to have a place where my carpentry skills are needed and appreciated.”

Sarah Schmeer, November, 2007
Thanks to everyone at RMRP for everything you do. I am so proud to be part of such a stellar organization and the wonderful extended raptor family!“
