"My goal in life is to make a positive difference in the world we live in. The Rocky Mountain Raptor Program allows me to do that with each bird we touch, each child we educate, and each person that gasps in awe when we are out in public.”

A Colorado native, Lisa grew up along the Front Range. Easy access to the mountains instilled a love of nature in her at a young age. Lisa received a Bachelors of Fine Art degree from CSU in 1988. In 1994, she joined the RMRP as a volunteer driven by her passion for wild things.

Lisa became very active in public outreach, the volunteer training program, and in bird care. Beginning in 1996, she became a bird trainer of some of the program’s Educational Ambassadors specializing in owls. In 1998, the position of coordinator for public outreach opened up. Lisa had over a decade of management experience in the customer service industry combined with 4 years immersed in the raptor program, making her an ideal candidate for the position.

Lisa serves as the volunteer program director and is active in volunteer training. She is the public exhibit coordinator and manages the raptor merchandise. She coordinates fund-raising events while remaining active in patient and educational raptor care.

Lisa spends her free time flourishing in creativity. She owns and operates her own business, Talon Enterprises, as an outlet for her artistic talent. She designs and crafts jewelry, specializing in wire wrapped stone. She is a nature and wildlife photographer and has created numerous portraits of all the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program’s educational ambassadors. She is also a fiber artist, spinning, weaving, and knitting her own yarn into wall hangings and wearable art. Much of the inspiration for her art comes from her passion for the birds at the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program.
